This weekend had the opportunity to stay with two different families. I will choose one of the families to live with while I work at  lyceum "Ana Muntean"as an English teacher for the next two years. I have only been in Moldova for a month, so this wekend was a learning experience for me!

     The first family I stayed with the Aftenii family. They had hosted another Peace Corps volunteer before (named Nicholas), and we talked a lot about his time with them. I also spent time with Doamna Maria and Domnul Ion's young grand daughters. Since I love children of all ages, I really enjoyed this.

     The next family I stayed with was the Straticiuc family. At this house. I had the opportunity to help make Moldovan food for the first time. It was a lot of fun! Their son, Vicu, Knows some English, so when I did not know how to say what I wanted to say in Romanian, he helped translate.

     Although these two families are different in many ways, they have one important thing in common: hospitality. Both families made me feel truly welkome in their homes. Iam very excited that these next two years will give me the chance to get to know the wonderful people of Moldova better!
